Glorious Sunshine!

Who doesn't like a sunny day!!
I used a Sunny Studios embossing folder for the sunburst pattern
I admitt, I love this background so much that I struggled with how to use it without covering it much!! I tried out several options leaving it on my work table for days until I committed to this layout!!

My goal: to leave as much of the mono-printed background exposed without leaving the card looking uninteresting or unfinished!

The swirly die was a great solution and the bright colors from a DCWV paper stack on the hello outline die helped it all to "POP" right off the page.

the Sunshine sentiment is a little gem from Unity Stamp Co that is actually only part of a sentiment.  Don't you LOVE how versatile rubber stamps can be :)

Here's a tip if you ever find yourself frustrated over the expense of glitter paper and then the waste (through cutting an open die like this one), or the fact that actually die cutting glitter paper with a detail die is nearly impossible!  Try die-cutting out of regular paper and then applying spray adhesive to evenly cover the die cut before burnishing in glitter. You'll have as many color options as you have glitter. I have found this to also be SO MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE!

another fun option!!
I am not being compensated for any of my designs, products or ideas, but if you're looking to increase your stock of glitter there is an amazing discount on a lot of Nuvo glitters at the Tonic-Studios website!  I like to think of glitter as a sparkly ink!  It can cover anything in fine lines or large blocks, so having a nice selection of color and textures (chunky, fine, super fine etc.) is essential for me :)

Don't Mess Up!! Experimenting with Crystal Drops without commitment!

Just a fun and really quick tutorial concerning how I personally like to insure size and placement of my Nuvo Crystal Drops!!

The photos are self explanatory, but what's a blog without a little bit of text?!!!

Once my project is ready to accept embellishment I often place a thin, clear and super slick sheet over the top. (I get these sheets from the inside of clear stamp packages. Really only one protection sheet is necessary - to protect the "sticky" back of the stamp & keep it clean & sticky!!)

Then it is just a matter of messing around with dot colors, sizes and placement! On symmetrical projects like this one it was fun to turn the clear page 1 quarter or 1 half turn to see how the same dots looked else where!

When they look good to me I let them dry on the clear sheet and then place them on my project with a dab of liquid glue.  Insanely easy and no oops' like a large blob where a tiny one should be!!!

In case you're wondering, the background stamp is 1997 Stampin' Up! in white embossing over blue cardstock.  The White cardstock medallion die can be found on Amazon!!

Like a flash ~ Labor Day weekend is here!  I hope you find time to spend quality moments with family, friends and maybe a little bit of it crafting or just sharing someone else's craft that caught your eye <3

Blessings,

Snow Fox - Winter White Out

Another Quiet Winter Scene

Have you ever been lucky enough to go hiking when the air is so still & cold that it sparkles around you?  And the landscape is white... the sky, the ground, the horizon...

I have laid on the snow and just gazed into the nothingness of the white fog sky.  Sub zero and I feel so snug wrapped in the warmth of my parka & blue jeans. I have caught my breath in the stillness with awe for my benevolent and awesome god.   The wonder of it.... and I am once again overwhelmed with a deep sense of gratitude to my creator. I am but a speck in a snow filled land in a limitless universe.

I am in love with paper crafting Winter-scapes! They remind me of my Winter hikes and my sometimes still spirit.  . .   I hope you enjoy them too!  Any questions concerning the products I used? Just post them below and I will get back to you ;)

This week Simon Says Stamps has a CAS challenge for you, so if you're into winterscapes they are almost certainly clean & simple!!
Simon Says also has a simultaneous  challenge to recycle something! The silver border on this card is actually an invoice I received from papers and More! It's a light weight silver shimmer
