Lining it Up

It is no secret that I am in love with linear stamps and stamping!!  I love making my own plaid patterns with these same/similar stamps!  I love the way the masked columns of Distress Oxide Ink make light and dark variations - - similar to how I see light play on water.  And then adding "liquid" lines of heat embossed metallics... simply so addictive!!  It is always rewarding, always breath taking, to see the random & endless play of color and texture.

This post is mostly just sharing the finished products of my earlier efforts.  If you would like more description here are links to 2 other blog posts & how I accomplished the look 💗

Before I trimmed & attached this b-fly I tried it on a couple of color combinations.
With these beautiful Oxide inks, the colors morph & blend so much they look great

All of the colored embossing powder has a shimmering metallic
finish similar to the silver & gold.  It is from Lindy's Stamp Gang
Well, I always have a reason to give thanks, so I try to keep a large stock of cards saying so in my inventory!  I am thankful for you and glad that you stopped by!

Something Feminine

No time for conversation today!!  But this card says it all, doesn't it?  I'm loving the soft colors and the speed and ease of making it.  Check back, I will be showing some "new" techniques I came up with!!

PS Image is from Unity, embossed in multiple colors and TH Oxide inked background!

This time I branched out a little bit, experimenting with new colors and some new embossing powders.  The powders are from Lindy's Stamp Gang and WoW!! do they ever have a great variety of beautiful, bright, 2 tone colors!!! They're addictively fun!! They also become a nice smooth gloss which is what I prefer in an embossing powder!

Additionally the butterflies are a wonderful arena of creative excitement for me so I will be sharing a tutorial on them soon.  Follow my blog & I will come back in & create a link when I get that tutorial posted :)

Meanwhile, here are some of the Autumn Colored stripes I tried for the first time.  I am so excited to use them with leaves, owls and sunflowers. I will again link them HERE when I get them put together!!

Stripes!! Fun with Linear Stamps and Oxide Inks!

Oooooooh!!!  I am so excited to share this post!!  I have a love for borders and border stamping!  Inspired by a note pad that had stripes on it I decided to experiment with Tim Holtz's new Distress Oxide Inks and some linear stamps I found:

This was so rewarding!!  I'll let the pictures tell most of the story and although the results (by my standards!) are AMAZING these card backgrounds were pretty simple to pull off :)

I started with regular black or white cardstock from Stampin' Up! and painters tape because it sticks dependably yet still comes off without harming the paper.
Once I felt I had as much variation as wanted . . . .

. . . time for the big reveal!!
Oh my Gosh!!  I think that they are great as is!!  These colors are GORGEOUS!
I stamped each series of lines separately so that I could emboss them in as many colors as I wanted!!  This was a great time to experiment with all those wonderful powders <3  I've decided I can't possibly have enough of these card backs on hand!!!  So many combinations and so little time!!

Then it was time to play around with inlays. My real motivation for doing the inlays was my reluctance to cover any part of that beautiful background!!  If I cut out the part I was going to cover anyway I could then use it elsewhere!!!  I will do a second posting that links back to this with the finished results.  I have some fun ideas and I can hardly wait to try them and share them.  Happy stamping to you my friends <3

Fun with Newton's Nook Digis!

Inspiration for this Thank You Card came from the current

Black & White, Teal & Pink.
I was excited to give this a try and here are the results!  The Digis I used were
Lots of fun to build cards based on a random inspiration ~ I hope you'll visit and enjoy all of the great entries and share yours while there :)
I used the digis printed on vellum immediately sprinkling embossing powder over the image before it could dry out.

I used TH Oxide inks for the stripes and gel pen coloring on the vellum.
Fun and colorful!!
